Arab team discusses enhancing Arab joint action

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A team of permanent delegates to the Arab League discussed here Monday the development of institutional framework and its mechanisms of the pan-Arab organization.

The meeting was chaired by Egypt's permanent delegate to the Arab League Ambassador Tariq Adel and was co-chaired by Arab League Deputy Secretary General Ahmed Ben Helli.

"This team is part of three other teams that are studying upgrading of the overall performance of the Arab League and the Arab joint action," Ben Helli told the press.

Today's meeting tackled various important issues related to the expansion of Arab security council membership, the establishment of an Arab legal center in Baghdad, Iraq, and outlining mechanisms of offering humanitarian help to Arab countries.

The meeting will also follow-up resolutions that were taken in previous Arab summits.

These work teams were formed in accordance to resolutions made in Arab League summits that were held in both Qatar and Kuwait as a move to improve Arab joint action.
