Khartoum lauds Egypt's ban on Sudanese opposition activities

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Sudan's Foreign Minister Ali Karti on Monday commended the "unprecedented positive stance" by the Egyptian authorities that did not allow Sudanese opposition in Cairo to organize anti-Khartoum political activities.

During a meeting with the Egyptian ambassador in Sudan Usama Shaltout, Karti stressed keenness by the government to call all parties to take part in a national dialogue initiative, even the armed movements, with all guarantees give, which leaves no reason for the opposition to organize contra activities abroad, according to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA).

The Egyptian authorities on Saturday prevented the opposition Broad National Front led by Ali Mahmoud Hassanein, from organizing a conference under "Unity of the opposition to oust the regime and not having a dialogue with it." The Front was established in October 2010 from various political entities and individuals opposing the Sudanese regime. They all seek overthrowing the regime.
