British GDP grows 0.8 percent in Q2

(MENAFN) Britain's economy maintained its upwardly performance in the second quarter as output surpassed the level seen before the global financial crisis, Arab News reported.

Gross domestic product (GDP) grew an unrevised 0.8 percent in the April-June period, the same as in the previous three months, the Office for National Statistics said.

Compared to the last year, the economy expanded an upwardly revised 3.2 percent, hitting its highest since the final quarter of 2007, the ONS added.

"The government's long-term economic plan is working, but the job is not yet done," the Treasury in London said in a statement.
