Hong Kong's economy slows to 1.8 percent in Q2

(MENAFN) According to data released, Hong Kong's economy slowed to 1.8 percent in the second quarter, the slowest since the third quarter of 2012, Xinhua reported.

The second-quarter weak performance was mainly dragged down by a fall-off in tourist spending and a concurrent slowdown in domestic demand, a government economist said.

On a quarterly comparison, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) dropped 0.1 percent in the second quarter, after a 0.3 percent growth registered in the preceding quarter.
