(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Some 60000 of the 500000 people hailing from Telangana and settled in Gujarat are expected to reach their permament residences by August 18.Hundreds of Telanganites based in Gujarat are rushing back home in packed trains and buses to enroll themselves in the August 19 statewide Intensive Household Survey (IHS) aimed at creating an accurate database for effective implementation of government welfare schemes.
Not wanting to be left out of the several future benefits some 60000 of the 500000 people hailing from Telangana and settled in Gujarat are expected to reach their permament residences by August 18. Most of these migrants mainly living in south Gujarat for the past four decades are employed in the textile sector and are engaged in technical work and their sudden exodus would have hit the industry but for many holidays in the month.
The Telangana government is conducting the survey on August 19 to ascertain the exact number of houseolds their socio economic and health conditions. The massive survey would involve about 400000 government employees who will be visiting about 8.5 million households on a single day.
Local Telugu organisations had requested the railway authorities to arrange for special trains for the crucial quick trip from Gujarat to Telangana and back.
Residents who need LPG connections passports and other important aid and documents from the government must provide their details in the upcoming household survey. During the pre-visit a checklist will be given defining the documents to be produced on August 19 the day of the Samagra Kutumba Survey 2014.
