China Mobile, the world's biggest mobile operator by subscribers, posted a decrease in net profit by 8.5 percent, Gulf News reported.
The company's net profit reached USD9.37 billion in the January-June period, a decrease the company attributed to fierce competition and market reforms.
This fall follows an announcement made by the company last March when they said that their 2013 net profit went down 6 percent, a first for a company for more than a decade.
Meanwhile, the Beijing-based company's revenue rose 7.1 percent, reaching USD3.16 billion, while their subscriber base rose 6.8 per cent, amounting to more than 790 million including 14 million 4G users.
