New French humanitarian aid to Iraq within hours - Fabius

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The French government announced Wednesday that Paris is to deliver new humanitarian aid to Iraq within the next hours.

A second humanitarian flight will arrive in Iraq today, carrying 20 tons of supplies, notably medication, tents, water treatment devices, and distribution of equipment for some 50,000 people, French Minister of Foreign Affairs Laurent Fabius said in a press statement.

France will also carry out additional operations in the next few days to assist populations in grave danger, added Fabius.

Last Sunday, Paris handed the first batch of humanitarian aid to the Iraqi authorities, and called on the European Union (EU) to urgently take all necessary measures to meet direct humanitarian needs of Iraqi civilians.
