The vehicle will be used by the Airport Security Department and Airport Passport Department in collaboration with Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).

The systems in the vehicle can check for and identify contraband weapons, drugs and explosives, which would help enhance the efficiency of security operations without affecting the movement of passengers at the airport.

The devices produce high-quality images that can be sent to the airport security control room within seconds. He added that the vehicle had been launched for trial and more such vehicles would be launched soon.

Captain Engineer Ali Hasan Al Rashid said that smart cameras in the vehicle can capture 360-degree panoramic photos. He added that the vehicle had been co-produced by the Ministry of Interior and Lekhwiya. The Ministry holds the patent for the car.
