Philippines export earnings up 21.3 percent in June


(MENAFN) Local Filipino statistics agency said the island's export earnings expanded 21.3 percent to USD5.44 billion in June, driven by higher shipments of electronic products, Xinhua reported.

Electronic products remained as the country's top export, accounting for more than 40 percent of revenues, while earnings from electronic products grew 10.7 percent on year to USD2.22 billion.

Revenues from goods classified as other manufactures jumped by 67.8 percent on year to USD538.67 million, while other manufactures were the second top earner in June.

In the January-June period of 2014, export earnings showed an increase of 8.3 percent on year to USD29.8 billion, from USD27.51 billion recorded in the same period last year.
