(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri held telephone talks with his US and French counterparts, John Kerry and Laurent Fabius respectively, on Cairo's endeavors to stop the killing of innocent Palestinians in Gaza Strip.
The top diplomats discussed the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, and Egyptian efforts to enforce the Cairo-brokered 72-hour ceasefire between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, foreign ministry spokesman Bader Abdulaati said in a press statement.
He said these contacts aimed at stopping the bloodshed of Palestinians as well as preventing the resumption of Israeli military operations and lift the Israeli siege of Gaza.
Shukri briefed Kerry and Fabius on the indirect talks between the Israelis and Palestinians, which were held in Cairo, he added.
