SRR supports Omani workforce

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Salalah Rotana Resort (SRR) continues to expand their team of professionals with a growing number of Omani nationals through the Duroob programme which aims to increase the rate of Omanisation at the resort.

The breathtaking resort situated on the sandy white shores of the renowned Salalah Beach boasts 400 rooms and suites with unrivalled children's facilities and restaurant outlets serviced by the Salalah Rotana Resort's dedicated family of professionals that are unmatched in their warm Omani hospitality.

'We have put more initiatives in place to increase the search and recruitment of Omani citizens. Working in Salalah shares similarities with working in the GCC region in that the government encourages its initiative to employ a minimum number of its citizens.

'The Omani government assists us with the designation of its citizens for certain specialised positions within various organisations including Salalah Rotana Resort' comments Claudio Melli general manager of Salalah Rotana Resort.

He went on to say 'The Duroob programme has been developed by Rotana for all its hotels across the Gulf countries. Oman is overflowing with talent and we are proud to offer Omani citizens with opportunities to prosper and grow which confirms Salalah Rotana Resort's commitment towards Omanisation and the great attention we offer our team to ensure they contribute significantly to enhancing the positioning of the hotel."

In addition to being a fast track development programme that will drive the local talent to grow faster within the hospitality industry the Duroob programme addresses unemployment among citizens by bridging the gap between local and foreign workers in the labor market.

This programme is instrumental in helping young nationals secure jobs by providing them with the necessary training and work experience to understand the working environment and be motivated to pursue a career within this industry.

Many efforts are being made to encourage further additions of Omani citizens to the team including fruitful collaborations with the Ministry of Manpower. The Omani government assists in providing the resort's HR team with potential candidates for consideration and interview purposes.
