Malayalam film shot in Oman releases on Friday


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Malayalam film Velli Velichathil that was shot completely in Oman will be released on Friday.

It's the first non-Arabic feature film that is set and shot entirely at several locations in Oman including Qantab Muttrah and Al Bustan Road.

Starring Indian journalist John Brittas In the Limelight is directed by Madhu Kaithapram an award winning filmmaker from India.

Brittas said 'Although I have been a television personality for many years and acted in several films this is the first time that I am playing a lead role and that too of a non-journalist.'

He added that the action-packed love story revolves around the aspirations of a few people who are settled in Muscat. Brittas who plays the role of Upendran is employed with a British company in the film.

Though he is doing well professionally his personal life is going through a rough patch. In the course Upendran meets several people who have had impact on his life and among the many a policeman and a dancer play important roles.

In the Limelight also stars Iniya in the female lead role Tini Tom Sreejith Ravi Lalu Alex Raveendran and Sudheer Karamana in other roles. The film is based on a novel Sulthan Nadu by CV Balakrishnan a popular Malayalam writer. Around 50 crew members were in Oman to shoot the film this year. The trailer of the film was released on August 4.
