Obama Welcomes Naming New Premier in Iraq


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Washington August 11 (QNA) - US President Barack Obama said the naming of a new prime minister in Baghdad is a promising step forward in the effort to form a unifying Iraqi government. Obama said he had congratulated Haidar al-Abadi by telephone after he was named prime minister-designate and urged him to form a new government as quickly as possible that represents all Iraqi people. Difficult days lie ahead but the US stands ready to be a partner of Iraq in fighting terrorist forces Obama said.(QNA)
