Latvia's GDP grows 2.5 percent in Q2


(MENAFN) Latvia's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2.5 percent in the April-June period on-year, Xinhua reported.

According to Latvian Central Statistical Bureau's preliminary, the increase was led by the increased value of retail trade of 4 percent.

In the first quarter of 2014, Latvia's GDP increased by 2.8 percent, while in 2013, it increased 4.1 percent.

Earlier in June, the Bank of Latvia lowered its annual forecast of economic growth to 3.3 percent.
