Corps Commander Conference reviews overall security situation of Pakistan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Corps Commander Conference on Monday held at General Head Quarters (GHQ) reviewed the overall security situation of Pakistan and ongoing military operation 'Zarb e Azb' in northern tribal region bordering Afghanistan, said military.

A press release by media wing of Pakistan military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) presided over the conference at GHQ.

Participants of the conference were given detailed briefing on operation ZarbeAzb and the overall security situation.

Participants vowed that terrorists would not be allowed to regroup and return to these areas; neither will they be allowed any space across the country, it added.

According to ISPR, COAS expressed complete satisfaction over progress made in Operation ZarbeAzb so far.

He paid rich tributes to the courage shown and sacrifices rendered by troops during the ongoing operation.

He emphasized on the need to consolidate operational gains made so far which he hoped will also be backed up by long term counter terrorism and counter extremism measures by the concerned stake holders, said ISPR.
