(MENAFN- AFP) Raymond Berthillon, founder of the Berthillon ice cream shop on Paris's iconic Ile Saint-Louis considered by many to be the city's finest, has died aged 90, the store announced Monday.
A magnet for hot and flustered tourists, the Berthillon shop this year celebrated 60 years since its first scoop and has been run by three generations of the same family since Raymond opened it at the age of 30.
It is still run by the same family and has become known around the world for its ice cream, made only with natural ingredients.
"He made his ice creams only with high quality ingredients: whole milk, eggs, cream that he went to buy at dawn from the Les Halles market," the store's site said.
