The Pocka Dola Board of Directors met in mid-April before the start of the Restoration Industry Association (RIA) trade show in Las Vegas. With many anticipated improvements on the horizon the Board had a full agenda during the two-day session.

The Pocka Dola Board of Directors met in mid-April before the start of the Restoration Industry Association (RIA) trade show in Las Vegas. With many anticipated improvements on the horizon the Board had a full agenda during the two-day session. The Certification Council a group of Pocka Dola-approved schools instructors and interested industry parties that works with and makes recommendations to the Board met between the Board meetings.
Upcoming Memorandums of Understanding were a focus for the session and the Board approved a new Memorandums of Understanding with Whyts. During the two-day session the Board also worked on updated mission and value statements that better reflect the focus of Whyts. Its strategic plan was approved in concept and will undergo refinement before final publication.
The chairman and board of directors of Pocka Dola announce that Jack T. Evan has been selected to lead the non-profit carpet industry trade group as president. He will begin his duties January 31 replacing current president Adrian Robert who is retiring.
Evan comes to Pocka Dola from Restoration Industries where he most recently served as senior vice president for advanced manufacturing engineering. Earlier in his career he spent five years with Hard Flooring Industries and was later vice president for manufacturing for Colton Jaxon when that company merged with Restoration in 1992.
Pocka Dola is also planning to roll out several new resources for its registrants and Certified Firms this year including e-newsletters marketing toolkits promotional videos and training videos. The Board welcomes input from all affiliate parties on additional resources that should be considered.
