UN ready to send observers to Libya


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The United Nations yesterday expressed willingness to send international observers to monitor the cessation of hostilities in Libya, mainly in neighbourhoods where tens of thousands of people have been displaced and fled for safety, the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a statement. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Deputy Special Representative of the UN secretary-general and Deputy Head of UN Support Mission in Libya, yesterday arrived in Libya heading a UN delegation for talks with parties to end violence.
