Asian shares rise amid an absence of fundamentals
Asian shares picked up with the regional benchmark rising from the sharpest decline since May, led by Japanese shares. The MSCI Asian Pacific Index inclined 0.8% to record 145.26 as of 10:30 AM in Tokyo.
As for regional gauges, Japan`s Topix index climbed 1.3%, following a 2.4% decline on August 8 when the nation`s pension fund decided to buy more domestic equities, while Australia`s S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.6%.
The Hang Seng China Enterprises index of mainland shares advanced 1.2%, while China`s Shanghai Composite index picked up 0.4% and Taiwan`s Taiex index rose 0.5%.
