Bid to enhance defense ties among GCC friendly nations


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY Aug 10 (KUNA): A series of meetings started on Sunday to discuss the scenario of the 'Exercise Eagle Resolve 2015' with the participation of commanders and officers from the various sectors of the Kuwaiti Army the Interior Ministry the National Guard and the US Central Command. The five-day meetings include workshop for the planning groups of the Exercise to draw up a realistic scenario to counter all forms of disasters and catastrophes The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense Directorate of Moral Guidance and Public Relations said in a statement. It added that 'Exercise Eagle Resolve 2015' is among the biggest on the regional and international levels aiming to enhance regional defence cooperation among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and friendly countries. The exercise seeks enhancing expertise in the field of managing joint operations. In addition the statement added that the exercise aims at unifying visions on how to coordinate cooperation in various fields countering terrorism border security and managing crisis and catastrophes. This will be the 13th version of the exercise. The statement quoted the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army as saying that 'Exercise Eagle Resolve 2015' reflects the professional level of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces and will contribute to boosting military cooperation 'among the sister and friendly countries'. The exercise will be carried out in Kuwaiti territories water and airspace as well as the training fields of some GCC member states.
