The inspection campaigns resulted in the issuance of warning letters to 20 companies that carry out pest control operations (on the inspected premises) he said in a media statement issued on Thursday.
He said the most of the violations which may cause minor injuries do not attract penalties and are tackled initially with only warnings without fines on the pest control companies.
Another official from the pest control section said the main cause of the growth of insects to the irresponsible attitude of villa owners who leave their swimming pools and fountains unattended for a long time when they are away from home which in turn results in breeding and multiplying of different types of insects.
“There is a unified system to inspect the places where flying insects especially blood-sucking insects are found in addition to the inspection in the areas of developers” he said.
