Qatar to award USD26.2b for infrastructure projects


(MENAFN) Qatar plans to grant as much as USD26.2 billion for infrastructure projects in 2014, up from USD9.4 billion in 2013, according to the Peninsula Qatar.

Infrastructure project awards across the GCC are expected to reach more than USD86 billion in 2014, which is 77.8 percent higher than in 2013, new figures released by construction intelligence firm Ventures Onsite showed.

In the UAE, projects worth a total of USD15.18 billion will be awarded, almost five times the 2013 contracts, while in Oman infrastructure awards are expected to reach USD7.4 billion.
