US President Against Isolating Gaza


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Washington August 07 (QNA) - US President Barack Obama said Thursday that Gaza strip must not remain isolated stressing that the people of Gaza must feel hopeful about the future. In a speech he gave at the conclusion of the US-Africa Summit Obama called on Israel and Hamas to commit to the temporary ceasefire they agreed earlier last week. He stressed at the same time on guaranteeing the security of Israel and ensuring that Hamas will not fire rockets as was the case in the last few weeks. The US President also praised Palestinian officials at the Palestinian Authority describing them as responsible. He also praised them for recognizing Israel and supporting a two-state solution.
