UAE- Ministry of Labour daily to boost labour awareness


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Ministry of Labour has signed a cooperation agreement with the Gulf Madhyamam newspaper to guide labourers and temporary contract employees in the UAE in addition to educating them about the regions culture.The agreement was signed by Maher Hamad Al Obed Assistant Undersecretary for Inspectional Affairs who stated that the ministry aims to regulate the labour market ensure flexibility attract new talent through an integrated system of standards and provide outstanding services. “The ministry has always sought to protect the interests of both production parties and so we signed the agreement with Gulf Madhyamam to raise proper awareness and to provide guidance about workers’ rights” he said.

The agreement stated that the ministry will provide all necessary information for the awareness campaign supervise the relevant published topics follow up on the topics that have been published during the campaign and provide support to the awareness campaign which will take place at labour camps selected by the newspaper. The newspaper will also publish anything relevant to the workers prepare a weekly awareness page give coverage to events and lectures prepared by the ministry publish cartoons with suitable messages and air special initiatives of the ministry on Media One channel. It will also publish or telecast interviews with senior officials and also accompany the ministry’s Guidance Department in their awareness programmes at select labour camps.
