US oil production to hit 14m bpd in 2016


(MENAFN) US energy firms, aided by technological advances, to pump more crude of oil, driving US oil production to 14 million barrels per day in 2016, Xinhua reported.

According to figures from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), the US current oil output is some 8 million bpd, with expectations to hit 9.5 billion bpd by 2016.

The International Energy Agency said that the United States was expected to become the world's top oil producer by 2015, surpassing rivals Russia and Saudi Arabia.
