Infrastructure awards in GCC to hit USD86b


(MENAFN) Granted infrastructure project contracts are expected to hit USD86 billion-worth in 2014, up 77.8 percent from 2013, according to Arab News.

Qatar will award projects worth USD26.2 billion this year compared to only USD9.4 billion in 2013 while Kuwait is expected to award USD3.45 billion, about 10 times the previous year.

UAE is expected to award USD15.18billion, almost five times the 2013 contracts, while in Oman infrastructure awards are expected to reach USD7.4 billion.

Meanwhile, Bahrain, which awarded USD382 million last year, is expected to offer deals worth USD3.4 billion.
