BMW posts profit surge in Q2, H1


(MENAFN) German automobile giant BMW Group posted a profit surge during the second quarter and the first half of the year, Xinhua reported.

The Munich-based car producer's revenue rose 1.8 percent in the April-June period, reaching USD26.6 billion, the group said.

According to the statistics released by the automaker, net profit jumped 27.2 percent to reach USD2.37 billion for the second quarter.

Meanwhile, the first half's figures showed a 2.8 percent revenue increase to USD51.09 billion, while net profit rose 19.6 percent to USD4.33 billion.

"We are on track to achieve our targets for the full year," said Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the board of management.
