Israel pulls forces out of Gaza Strip

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Israeli army announced Tuesday that its ground forces have completely withdrawn from the war-ravaged Gaza Strip amid a state of calm after the 72-hour humanitarian truce brokered by Egypt went into force, according to the Israeli Radio.

The Radio said that at least 106 soldiers are still treated from injuries sustained during the military operations in the Strip, adding that nine soldiers are in critical conditions.

For his part, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin said Israeli approval to cease-fire in the Gaza Strip is 'balanced and true decision'.

He added that that decision was taken after considering it carefully.

Meanwhile, Gaza officials say Israeli aggression on the Strip has killed 1,867 Palestinians, most of them civilians, and injured above about 10,000. Israel says 64 of its soldiers and three civilians have been killed.
