(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) W York August 05 (QNA) - The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has unanimously condemned the attacks carried by armed groups on Lebanese army in the border region of Arsal expressing support for the efforts of the Lebanese Armed Forces in their fight against 'terrorism'. UNSC expressed in a press statement its full support for the Lebanese government urging the Lebanese parliament to hold presidential elections without further delay. The statement called on all the Lebanese parties to preserve national unity in the face of attempts to undermine the country’s stability stressing the importance for all Lebanese parties to respect Lebanon’s policy of disassociation and to refrain from any involvement in the Syrian crisis.
