Kimoon Praises Gaza 72Hour Truce


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) W York August 05 (QNA) - The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has praised the Gaza 72-hour truce announcement calling on conflict parties exercise maximum restraints until it goes into effect. Ki-moon urged in a statement both Israel and Hamas to begin negotiations as soon as possible to reach a permanent cease-fire and to address the origin of the conflict. The statement added that the United Nations is ready to provide all support for efforts aimed at resolving the conflict. Israel and Hamas on Monday evening agreed to a truce in the Gaza Strip for 72 hours starting Tuesday morning. (QNA)
