Sony posts USD261m net profit in Q1


(MENAFN) Sony announced posting USD261 million net profit in the first quarter, led by sales of its PlayStation 4 console, but still projects a full-year loss, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The consumer electronics giant first-quarter figures were up from USD30.2 million over a year earlier, while sales rose 5.8 percent to USD17.53 billion during the cited period.

Sony, which has been undergoing a painful restructuring after years of losses, still expects a net loss of USD487.220 million on sales of USD76 billion for the current fiscal year.
