China's power consumption to soar 6.5 percent in Q2


(MENAFN) According to a report by China Electricity Council, the country's power consumption is forecasted to rise 6.5 percent in the second quarter, QNA reported.

Earlier official data showed that power consumption in the first half increased 5.3 percent over a year, reaching 2.36 trillion kwh, as the economy expanded 7.4 percent in the period.

Meanwhile, electricity use by primary industries dipped 4.6 percent. Power use by the industrial sector rose 5.1 percent during the citer period, while the annual rate of 2014 hit around 6 percent.
