(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) T chief claims government will fall before the end of August googletag.Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Sunday announced that his party would observe ‘Yaum-e-Shuhada’ (Day of Martyrs) on August 10 to pay tribute to those martyred in the Model Town tragedy in Lahore in June and the beginning of ‘Green Revolution’.
Dr Qadri was speaking at PAT secretariat in presence of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi beside leaders of Sunni Ittihad Council (SIC) Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimin (MWM) and other parties.
The PAT chief invited people from all over the country to participate in the Youm-e-Shuhada activities in Model Town Lahore during which a prayer session will be held for the 14 PAT workers killed during what he called the worst brutality in Pakistan’s history committed by the Punjab Government.
He warned the government that if any hurdles were created to stop the people from attending the Day of Martyrs in Lahore he will change the venue to Raiwind near Lahore where the palace of Sharif brothers are situated.
Dr Qadri said that “Green Revolution is bound to come in Pakistan” and claimed that “this government will fall before the end of the month of August 2014”.
The PAT chief said that if his party wanted it could have held a sit-in after the 17 June killings of its workers until the end of this government but it didn’t and remained peaceful. We took this decision because Pakistan Army was busy in a operation against militants and we did not want to do anything to distract its attention he said adding that the PAT spent the last six weeks going to courts and police stations for registering its first information report (FIR) but on the instructions of the Punjab government police did not even register the FIR.
Dr Qadri held the Punjab government completely responsible for the Model Town tragedy and said “Nawaz Sharif should decide whether he will leave office first or his brother.”
Dr Qadri said that six weeks have passed and the killers of 14 unarmed PAT workers are still enjoying official positions including the chief minister of Punjab. He stated that he has knowledge of phone calls recording of Shahbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif which proves their involvement in the killing of PAT workers. It will be made public at the right time.
He said the “blood of martyrs and those injured in the Model Town tragedy will not go in vain”.
Talking about the ‘Green Revolution’ and the post-revolution situation Dr Qadri said that present rulers would be immediately jailed and their fate will be decided within 15 days by courts. Warning the Punjab police he said its brutal and aggressive policies would not be tolerated.
He asked police and administrative officers to refuse to obey illegal orders by the government and warned the police that if any illegal orders were followed or force was used against the people of Pakistan they would be held accountable.
The PAT chief said he will then immediately implement his 10-point revolutionary agenda to benefit the poor and oppressed people of Pakistan.
He added that hundreds of thousands of political appointees in police and other government departments will be sacked immediately and replaced by educated professional and deserving people.
On the occasion Shahid Mursaleen spokesman of Dr Tahirul Qadri said “the present regime will end within 3 weeks and be jailed immediately after the revolution which is bound to come”.
