Since launching in 1980 the Golden Raspberry Awards (or ‘Razzies’) have offered a counterpoint to the Academy Awards – marking the worst Hollywood has to offer in any given year.

The first ever ‘Worst Actor’ statuette went to Sweet Caroline crooner Neil Diamond for his role in The Jazz Singer – beating out the likes of Michael Caine Kirk Douglas Anthony Hopkins and…umm…Bruce Jenner from Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Jenner had starred in the comedy movie Can’t Stop the Music alongside Steve Guttenberg and The Village People in his brief and inglorious acting career.

Over the years the ‘Worst Actor’ award has been won by the likes of Prince Ashton Kutcher Bill Cosby William Shatner and Sylvester Stallone (a record four times). In 2001 madcap comedian Tom Green became the first and still the only winner to collect the trophy in person.

But without doubt the most surprising recipient of the gong is Laurence Olivier widely considered to be one of the greatest actors of all time. The British thespian – famed for his Shakespearean work – received the nod in 1982 for his role in the flop war movie Inchon. Mole of the Emirates
