Indian Prime Minister Modi in Nepal for Talks


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Thmandu August 03 (QNA) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kathmandu Sunday on a two-day official visit for talks that include a power trade pact. Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala received Modi and an official welcome ceremony was held at Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said. This is the first bilateral visit to Nepal by an Indian Prime Minister in 17 years though Indian leaders have routinely attended regional summits in Kathmandu The Times of India said. The talks include harnessing Nepal's estimated 42000 MW hydro-electric potential to meet domestic needs and also supply India's giant energy-starved economy. (QNA)
