Poland's construction sector grows after financial crisis


(MENAFN) Polish construction sector has recovered a heavy financial crisis that has plagued it over the past several years, Xinhuanet reported.

Although revenues of major construction firms fell by over USD2 billion in 2013, their operating and net results have improved, the experts stated, predicting that the value of construction projects would grow 3.9 percent this year and 5.4 percent in 2015.

The value of building investment projects in Poland reached USD59.08 billion, or 11.4 percent of GDP, in 2013, placing Poland at 7th in Europe, behind leaders like Germany, France and Britain, which posted figures of USD362.58 billion, USD323.63 billion and USD214.86 billion.

Two Polish firms are among Europe's 50 largest building companies in 2013 ranked by Deloitte - Budimex and Polimex-Mostostal. Budimex was placed at 47th and Polimex-Mostostal at 50th.
