IAG Airline group profits surge in Q2


(MENAFN) International Airlines Group announced that the second-quarter profits increased after an improved performance from its Spanish carrier Iberia, Xinhua reported.

The British Airlines owner's quarterly operating profit went up to USD509 million, compared with USD326.7 million during the equivalent period one year earlier.

IAG's net profit more than doubled to USD374.94 million in the second quarter, from USD170.1 million in the same period of last year, the group added.

"Iberia's restructuring continues to have a positive impact," said Willie Walsh, IAG chief executive Officer.
