(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Za August 01 (QNA) - The unconditional 72-hour humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza came into effect at 08:00 on Friday. A few hours before the beginning of the truce the Israeli army has stepped up its aggression violently firing shells at Palestinians' houses and lands and the Palestinian resistance responded to Israeli violations and aggressions firing rocket on several Israeli sites and cities. Hamas Spokesman Sami Abu Zahri said that all factions of the resistance agreed on commitment to the truce " as long as the Israeli side commits to it". A member of the Israeli wartime mini cabinet said that Israel has agreed on a 72-hour humanitarian ceasefire that does not include the army operations against the tunnels in the Gaza Strip. Hamas and Israel agreed of the truce after the UN Security Council called earlier for "an immediate and unconditional cease-fire" in Gaza Strip calling as well for a "humanitarian truces". (QNA)
