Six killed in attack on KPK politicians house


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Identified gunmen opened fire on the hujra of former provincial minister Bedar Khan killing six people including his brother in Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.According to police two cops were also among the dead. The police said that the bodies were moved to Tehseel Hospital Chak Darra. The police added that the former minister was not present at the house when the attack took place.

Baidar Khan belongs to the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP).

Among those killed was Baidar’s brother Mohammed Ishaq Baidar police spokesperson Mushtaq Khattak said.

Baidar has held several posts in the local government of the region which with neighbouring tribal areas on the border with Afghanistan is a haven for militant groups Al Qaeda terrorists and the Pakistani and Afghan Taleban.

On June 15 the military launched an offensive against the Taleban and other terrorist groups in North Warizistan. These terrorist have killed thousands of innocent people in bombs and shooting attacks throughout Pakistan.

Since the start of that offensive in which the army deployed more than 30000 troops over 400 “terrorists” have been killed according to the military.

About 698000 civilians mostly children and women have been forced to abandon their homes and seek refuge in camps set up by the country’s army and government and the UN.
