S. Korea posts USD39.2b current account surplus in H1


(MENAFN) Central bank data showed that South Korea posted a new record-high account surplus in the first six months of the year, Xinhua reported.

According to the Bank of Korea (BOK), current account surplus reached USD39.2 billion in the first half, beating the previous high of USD31. 26 billion on-year.

In June alone, the country posted USD7.92 billion in current account surplus, keeping its surplus trend for the 28th straight month.

It was the longest surplus trend except for the 38th consecutive month of surplus between June 1986 and July 1989.
