Zimbabwe posts USD156.3m trade surplus with EU


(MENAFN) Zimbabwe has posted a trade surplus of USD156.3 million with the European Union during the January-September period of 2013, Xinhua reported.

The registered surplus was up from USD85 million on-year, as in 2012, total trade between the two sides reached USD800 million, up from USD400 million in 2009.

Zimbabwe's exports to the EU included tobacco, non-industrial and industrial diamonds, refined copper, raw hides, black fermented and partially fermented tea and leather.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe imports from the EU included cars, transport equipment, machinery, chemicals and some luxury goods.
