(MENAFN - Arab News) E Riyadh Governorate the Ministry of Islamic Affairs Endowments Call and Guidance and the Riyadh Municipality have made elaborate civil and security arrangements for Eid Al-Fitr this year to be enjoyed amid colorful celebrations with safety and security.The Department of Mosques which functions under the Ministry of Islamic Affairs has issued necessary instructions for the required arrangements at mosques to commence Eid prayers which will be held in more than 400 mosques throughout the capital just after sunrise. Some grounds are also being especially prepared to hold prayers.They will also make separate arrangements for women by placing improvised partitions in the mosques and on grounds.Giving details of the Riyadh celebration program for the Eid Al-Fitr the public relation department of the municipality said that seven locations including Malaz Stadium have been selected for fireworks display. These locations are distributed geographically across the city and shows will start at 11:15 p.m. as scheduled the municipality said.Apart from fireworks another major attraction during the grand celebrations will be King Abdullah Park in Malaz with activities such as folk dances from various regions children's operetta light show fountain dance show and visual presentations on a huge screen scheduled from 7 p.m. to midnight when families will be entertained.Riyadh Mayor Abdullah Al-Muqbel announced that the celebrations will witness an impressive lineup of activities including a number of them to take place in the newly opened Prince Sattam Park in Wadi Hanifah.In addition sports competitions such as car races will be organized.For the ninth year in a row Break of Time Barrier championship will be held for automobiles every day. A number of modified automobiles and motorcycles will take part in it for three days and awards will be given to winners in each category.There will also be an airshow entitled "Riyadh from the sky."The celebrations will include activities for people with special needs.The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities security services and some private sector establishments will participate in the activities. King Abdul Aziz Historical Center will organize folklore tent at the National Museum. The program will start every night at 8:30 and continue till midnight.A folk bazaar showcasing traditional products will also be organized at King Abdul Aziz Manakh Garden on south Ring Road.With offices closed for the Eid holiday people were seen in a festive mood. Shoppers flocked to markets and families were seen buying clothes at malls and hypermarkets.A huge rush of expatriates was seen at King Khaled International Airport as they checked out for planes home.According to travel agents owing to the high demand there was a huge shortage of air tickets for countries with a large number of expatriates such as #India Pakistan and Bangladesh.Riyadh police have made a comprehensive security plan for the week-long festivity.
