McDonald's Japan halts chicken imports from China

(MENAFN) McDonald's Holdings Co. (Japan) has decided to stop importing all chicken products produced in China, Xinhua reported.

The US fast-food chain has made its decision after a supplier in Shanghai admitting using rotten meat, local media reported.

McDonald's Japan branches have sourced meat from Shanghai Husi Food Co. since 2002.

"We have made this decision in view of the growing concern over McDonald's chicken products made in China," McDonald's Japan CEO said.
