Hyundai's second-quarter earnings drop 13.3 percent

(MENAFN) Hyundai Motor announced registering a double-digit decline of its earnings in the April-June period of 2014, Xinhua reported.

The South Korean automobile giant's operating profit reached USD2.03 billion in the second quarter, down 13.3 percent year-on-year.

Revenue dipped 1.9 percent from a year earlier to USD22.1 billion in the second quarter, and net income declined 6.9 percent to USD2.28 billion.

The automaker attributed the second-quarter drop to the local currency's appreciation to the US dollar, the carmaker said.
