Asir promised adequate water in 10 days

(MENAFN- Arab News) E Asir governorate has promised to resolve the water shortage in the region in 10 days.The governorate is working with the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) to ensure there are adequate supplies to consumers in Abha said Saad bin Abdullah Al-Thabet spokesperson of the governorate.'Under the directions of Prince Faisal bin Khaled it was agreed to hold meetings between competent bodies to discuss the water crisis in the region and ways to resolve the problem. A meeting was held with officials of the General Directorate of Water in Asir Region and the SWCC to find solutions."The director of the SWCC in Shuqaiq had revealed that the water shortage was caused by technical problems said Al-Thabet. 'The corporation will work at full capacity to gradually restore supply to previous levels ... within 10 days." He said officials at the General Directorate of Water have revealed that the operational capacity of the station in Murba would be increased to 40000 cubic meters a day to meet the demand and shortfall.Al-Thabet said all government agencies are taking measures to tackle the crisis. Field committees are working around the clock at the saline water stations in Abha to address the problem the statement added.
