Xerox Emirates and Noor Dubai Foundation work together for a brighter future

(MENAFNEditorial) The Holy Month of Ramadan is a time of remembering and giving to the less fortunate. This year, as for the previous 15 years, Xerox Emirates, a member of the Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba group, has contributed to the welfare of humanity during the Holy Month of Ramadan and after. Focused on making a positive difference to society, it partnered with Noor Dubai Foundation to help raise donations through the award-winning Xerox Middle East golf series, 'Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge 2014' and through other social activities.

The Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge runs until year end and all donations raised by it, as well as all funds collected by Xerox Emirates employees during the Holy Month of Ramadan will be directed to providing medical services to treat and prevent blindness in developing countries. Last year, during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Xerox Emirates Facebook fans, and through the 'Supporting you, Supporting them' campaign, have nominated Noor Dubai Foundation's mobile eye camp project as the initiative that they wish for Xerox Emirates to support. The winning project has helped prevent blindness and visual impairment globally and to many, and continues to do so.

This year, Xerox Emirates employees demonstrated their motivation and support by selling booklets among their own community to raise donations for Noor Dubai Foundation, and to further increase awareness about Noor Dubai Foundation's vision of a world free from avoidable causes of blindness; co-branded posters were sent via e-mail and posted on Xerox Emirates social media sites and elsewhere. Members of the public, especially Xerox Emirates customers, were also invited to show their support by donating via SMS.

"At Xerox Emirates we believe that through our commitment we can make a positive difference to the society. Over 285 million individuals from around the world are visually impaired and, of those, 37 million are blind," explained Andrew Horne, General Manager, Xerox Emirates. "Through our partnership, we hope to generate awareness about eye health, provide eye care and disease management through consultations, medication, glasses and state of the art surgical setup especially to people with low income. We will continue supporting Noor Dubai Foundation and we thank them for this opportunity to help us reach out to hundreds more in need around the world."

Xerox Emirates employees were given extra motivation for raising significant funds by a series of prizes for those whose efforts resulted in the most donations. As well as certificates of appreciation, the winner won a weekend stay for two at the Waldorf Astoria, Palm Jumeirah, the second place winner received a gold coin and the third place winner received a gift voucher.

Xerox Emirates works closely with Xerox Corporate to support the community to have a bigger, better, brighter future. The company continues to identify areas that need help and ensure they get the necessary support through their investments. By aligning the company's objective with the community's needs, Xerox Emirates aims to achieve a prosperous future for all.
