China Airlines tests in-flight Wi-Fi

(MENAFN) China Eastern Airlines announced testing a program which allows passengers to use in-flight Wi-Fi, introducing the technology to China's booming aviation market, Xinhua reported.

The test service was launched on the cargo's Airbus A330 servicing the Shanghai-Beijing route, and the first trial flight took off on Wednesday morning, China Eastern Airlines said.

The aircraft is installed with devices that rely on satellites to transmit signals, boasting broader bandwidth and greater stability compared with communication via base stations.
