1600 Meals Distributed Daily to Workers in Dubai during the
Holy Month
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Thousands of workers are receiving nourishing iftar meals as part of an initiative by axiom to reach out to the community during Ramadan.
A team of 20 axiom volunteers is distributing 1600 meals daily to workers at the Al Fada Labor Camp in Al Quoz and the Badria Abdullah mosque in Sonapur. The meals in Al Quoz are being distributed in collaboration with the SmartLife Foundation, a non-governmental organization that aims to help improve the lives of blue-collar workers through voluntary activities.
The initiative is proving to be a large success as hundreds of workers line up at the two venues, looking forward to breaking their fast with a wholesome and nutritious meal.
"Ramadan is about empathizing with all segments of the community, and this includes those who are helping us build this beautiful country," said Faisal Al Bannai, axiom CEO. "It is our duty and responsibility to give back and this spirit must always be present in our hearts".
"Everyone can contribute in their own way, whether it is by donating money or goods to a charity, handing a bottle of water and dates to someone without food as the call to prayer sounds, or by simply spending time with those who are less fortunate. There are numerous ways to give back and a small gesture can go a long way."
The initiative will run until the end of the holy month, with nearly 50,000 meals given away in total.
