(MENAFN) Facebook reported that its quarterly profits more than doubled in the second quarter of 2014, driven by big gains in ad revenue and a surge in users, Arab News reported.

In the April-June period of 2014, Facebook's net income increased to USD791 million, a jump of 138 percent, according to the social media giant.

The second-quarter increase marked a leap from the USD333 million net income which was registered during the same period a year earlier, Facebook added.
