Military action wont bring stability to Israel - Ban

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Tuesday military actions would not bring stability to Israel.

Ban said at a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyhu in Tel Aviv Tuesday that he is in the region as the conflict is escalating in Gaza.

He pointed out that international efforts will continue to put an end to the conflict in the region.

Ban said: "My message to Israelis and Palestinians is the same: Stop fighting. Start talking. And take on the root causes of the conflict, so we are not back to the same situation in another six months or a year." Netanyahu said that military operation in Gaza will continue until missiles stops.

Ban will meet later in the evening Palestinian Prime Minister Ramy Al-Hamad and Palestinian leadership to discuss the latest developments of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

At least 600 Palestinian people, including children, civilians and women, were killed in the Israeli aggression. Also, about 27 Israeli were killed.
